60 Day
Longitudinal Tart Cherry Juice Consumption for Improved Sleep Quality
Protocol Authors
This protocol focuses on the daily consumption of tart cherry juice an hour before bedtime, followed by 10 minutes of light stretching. Participants will act as their own controls, comparing sleep disturbance data from before and after the intervention. The primary goal is to examine the effects of tart cherry juice on sleep quality.

A Note from the Protocol Team

CEO, Efforia
Why I created this challenge: Tart cherry juice has been touted for its potential benefits on sleep quality, with anecdotal evidence and some small-scale studies suggesting it may improve sleep due to its high melatonin and antioxidant content. Academic research, including randomized controlled trials, has shown promising results, but more robust data is needed. Social media is buzzing with testimonials from those who swear by this natural remedy for better sleep. By running this study, we aim to provide more substantial evidence on whether daily consumption of tart cherry juice truly enhances sleep quality.
My Objective for You: My goal is to empower you to explore how a simple, natural intervention—daily tart cherry juice—might improve your sleep quality. By participating, you will gain personal insights while contributing to a larger body of research aimed at understanding this potential sleep aid.
Aims & Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the impact of daily tart cherry juice consumption on sleep quality using the PROMIS Sleep Disturbance Scale, Oura Sleep data, and the Fatigue Perception and Impact Survey. We will measure changes from baseline to endpoint, analyzing improvements in sleep quality, fatigue levels, and overall well-being.
Significance & Impact: This challenge could significantly impact public health by providing a natural alternative for improving sleep quality, potentially reducing the need for pharmacological interventions. Expected outcomes include enhanced sleep quality and reduced fatigue, though individual responses may vary. The study's limitations include reliance on self-reported data and the need for larger sample sizes for broader generalizations.
